Turning Pages at Hemmenway

Fathers and children share quality time and a bonding experience at the Turning Pages event at Hemmenway ES on Sept. 14.
On Sept. 14, the office of community programs brought a tremendous event to Hemmenway ES -- Turning Pages, presented by Roy Wooten of Shield Bearer.

The event created an environment for Hemmenway's pre-k through second-grade students to spend some quality time with their fathers. During the evening, the families were treated to dinner, interactive literacy lessons and a book giveaway.

"It was such a blessing to see a room full of fathers connecting with their children," said Dr. Jae Simpson-Butler, Hemmenway principal.
