Cypress Ranch Key Club members (L-R) Emily Zhao, Megan Reynosa, Rachel Iselin and Matthew Riley prepare for Fall Rally in Arlington, Texas. |
The Cypress Ranch HS Key Club traveled to Arlington, Texas to participate in the Fall Rally for Texas-Oklahoma District Key Clubs on Oct. 3. The event was held at Six Flags Over Texas, where students had the opportunity to connect with other Key Club members from Texas and Oklahoma and learn more about what Key Club is doing on a larger scale.
"We met new people in the district and learned about the theme for next year," said Reena Gannon, Cypress Ranch HS Key Club president. "We played ice breakers in order to connect with other members such as Key Club related Kahoot! and jellyfish, rode rollercoasters and socialized with other Key Clubbers.”
Key Clubbers were given important information and resources to continue their diligent service.
“Leaders at the Fall Rally reinforced important information such as dues for key club, sending monthly reports on time, and communicating with the district board," explained Gannon.
Fall Rally gave a deeper appreciation for what Key Club does on a larger scale and how impactful their service is to their respective communities.
"Fall Rally gave a better perspective that we are not the only club that is working together, that everyone is learning and making mistakes, and that our club does a lot of service. It was a very humbling experience," said Gannon.
