Cy Ridge Dazzlers at KHOU Great Day Houston

Dazzlers officers finish their strut, ending a performance after the Cypress Ridge High School dance team was invited to KHOU’s “Great Day Houston” on Aug. 23 to also promote an upcoming fundraiser.
The Cypress Ridge High School Dazzlers made an appearance Aug. 23 on KHOU’s Great Day Houston, closing out the show with a spirited performance from its four dance officers.

Invited by show host Deborah Duncan, 26 returning Dazzlers and director Talia Dudley made the trip to the studio, getting plenty of photo opportunities and a few on-air minutes as well.

Members of the Dazzlers enjoy a few moments on camera during their time at the KHOU studio Aug. 23, as the Cypress Ridge High School dance team was invited to be the station’s “Great Day Houston.”
When asked by Duncan of what participants get out of joining organizations like the Dazzlers, Dudley said confidence is a big benefit.

“They get a lot of confidence out of learning how to dance together,” said Dudley, a dance veteran of more than 20 years that includes the Bailadoras while a student at Langham Creek High School and the dance team at Texas A&M. “Being a little bit vulnerable and putting themselves out there on a football field or competition floor, it takes a lot of confidence.”

The Dazzlers promoted an upcoming spirit night fundraiser Sept. 19 at Aguirre’s Tex-Mex (6166 Highway 6 North Unit #22), with patrons able to donate 20 percent of their bill to the organization. Four officers then closed out the show in front of their peers and the live studio audience with their strut.
