MS students earn MOS certifications

Three Truitt and nine Spillane MS students earned their Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications during the 2016 spring semester.


The following Truitt students earned MOS certifications:

• Giovvany Ruiz – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access;
• Luis Infante – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access; and
• Angel Silva – Word and PowerPoint.

The students who are taught by business/technology teacher Nikia Mattazzi, took their exams in the classroom of Cypress Falls HS business education department chair Mary Ayodele. Mattazzi thanked Ayodele for the assistance and credited her students for their achievements.


“I want to congratulate these three hard-working Truitt Timberwolves,” Mattazzi said. “I am so proud to be their teacher and be given the opportunity to guide these dedicated young men to reach their goal of becoming Microsoft Office Specialists for Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.”

Nine eighth-grade BIM I students at Spillane MS passed several MOS exams this year. Four students passed all four of the basic exams in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access:

• Sritha Cheemerla, Grant Saleme, Rahul Shanmugham and Tristan Wiesepape.

The following Spillane students passed exams in Word and PowerPoint:

• Lauren Arthur and Cami Bird.

Students who passed one exam were:

• Will Gibb, Mitchell Peiffer and Will Sevin.

The students spent many hours of their own time preparing for these exams in addition to completing the course work in class. Their instructor, Mary Ann Krause, took them to Cypress Woods HS for testing after school. Janice Walker was the exam proctor.
