After reviewing recent statements by the Center for
Disease Control, which is not recommending that
U.S. residents avoid any particular leafy green at this time given their short
shelf life, and conferring with our suppliers who assure us their
romaine supply is safe, CFISD's nutrition services department will be adding romaine lettuce back to our menus
over the next few weeks.
Nutrition services will continue to practice safe food handling
at all points of service to ensure quality, nutritious meals are served to all
customers. The well-being of our students is of greatest importance, so
we will monitor for any further releases from the CDC and FDA regarding the
quality of our romaine supply.
