Students and staff were encouraged to wear pink to show support for those who are battling or have battled breast cancer. Brenda Booker, life skills aide at Bane (pictured below, seated, left) is a breast cancer survivor. She has been a para at Bane for many years and never stopped working through her ongoing treatment.
CY FALLS

To help bring awareness to breast cancer and other forms of cancer, the Cypress Lakes Sterling Stars drill team held their annual Pretty in Pink fun run on Oct. 1. More than $400 in donations were raised. Full story here.
HAIRGROVE
Hairgrove students and staff participated in Pennies for Pink, a fundraiser to collect change for Causes for a Cure, a non-profit organization supporting various cancer research centers.
VARIOUS CAMPUSES
Members of the Young Men for Positive Action (YMPA), Young Ladies for Positive Action (YLPA) and Hispanic Organization for Leaders of America (HOLA) clubs throughout CFISD hosted the inaugural “Kickin’ It Pink” kickball tournament on Oct. 8 at Cypress Springs High School. Full story here.
