Presenters wrap up a day of sharing with students at the Holbrook ES 2nd Annual Career Day. Greater True Faith Missionary Baptist Church’s young professionals group provided speakers for the 2nd Annual Holbrook ES Career Day on May 31.

Career Day speakers were:

• Walter Cruz, engineering manager at MD Anderson;
• Harry Gunner, client relations director at Epic Health Services;
• Agnes Doyle, associate attorney for Porter Hedges;
• Larry Brooks, Brooks and Davis Real Estate Firm;
• Eddie Garcia, IT director of Dell Healthcare;
• Justin Barras, project engineer, SNC Lavalin Engineering;
• Mia Booker, assistant controller, Tri Tech Surveying Co.;
• James Allen, financial analyst for Just Energy;
• Lupe Mireles, senior relationship manager of Bank of America;
• Stephanie Alaman, flight attendant for Spirit Airlines; and
• Brian Bolden, project manager for MEDCO.

Presenters shared information about the colleges they attended as well as their careers.

“Students were eager to take in all of the information that was shared,” said Pam Handsborough, Holbrook behavior interventionist.

Rodeo Day

A member of the HLSR speaker’s committee addresses Holbrook ES students on May 20.

The speaker’s committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo visited Holbrook ES on May 20 to share information about the history of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The speakers addressed the entire student body during the daylong event.


“Students were excited to learn about the history of life as a cowboy,” said Holbrook ES behavior interventionist Pam Handsborough.
